Frank J. Schiro Attorney at Law

Kristin Anne Leaf has had a wide range of litigation experiences in the areas of criminal defense, civil and criminal appeals, civil litigation, wrongful death actions, minor settlements, personal injury, guardianship, paternity, family law, and others. Kristin also has experience in transactional matters, in negotiating contractual agreements, prenuptial and marital property agreements, and lease agreements.

Kristin understands the stress and emotional strain that often accompanies litigation and always treats her clients with compassion and respect. Kristin leaf and Frank Schiro work together as a litigation team and are extremely committed to obtaining the best possible results for clients.

For example, between 2008-2011, Kristin and Frank represented a criminal defendant at a jury trial in Milwaukee County, which resulted in a guilty verdict on count one and a not guilty verdict on count two. Because the client and his family were committed to seeking justice, Kristin and Frank thereafter appealed the count one guilty verdict to the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, and thereafter, to the Wisconsin Supreme Court, resulting in the reversal of their client’s unjust conviction because the jury did not understand the improper count one jury instructions.1 The case was remanded back to the circuit court and ultimately dismissed.

Kristin was born in Menomonee Falls, raised in Mequon, and has lived most of her adult life in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Kristin received her bachelor’s degree in 2004 from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where she majored in philosophy, was a member of the UWM Dance Team, volunteered for the National Ski Patrol, and volunteered as a University Legal Clinic paralegal.

Kristin was a law clerk with the Law Office of Frank Joseph Schiro, Ltd. during the summers of 2004, 2005 and 2006. Kristin was admitted to the bar and began working as an associate attorney with the Law Office of Frank Joseph Schiro, Ltd. in 2008.

Kristin received her J.D. from the William Mitchell College of Law in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where she served as the founding president of the WMCL Golf Club. After graduation, Kristin served as law clerk to Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Paul R. Van Grunsven.
